Uh… it is if you don’t provoke it. I don’t think anyone in their right mind would provoke a giant squid, though. It’s usually pretty docile, from what I’ve seen, though. Oh, I’m Cole Evans, by the way. I go here, at Hogwarts, I mean. Welcome.

There does seem to be a lot of us doesn’t there? But there’s more of you. I really like Hogwarts so far, bit chillier than I was expecting but all the people have been very nice.
Well I do try. 
There does indeed, well, yeah, but once you see the same people for almost seven years, you tend to get used to them. You’ll get used to that, or learn some really good heating charms. I’m actually a fan of the cold, but I’ve heard a lot of you talking about how chilly it is here.
Smaller than this place for sure and easier to navigate. The people here seem better though, less masculine posturing that’s for sure.

For a campus so austral, this castle’s got a wickedly persistent draft about it; and that’s coming from a fur-wrapped Northerner of seventeen years. Don’t know how the lot you manage it, really—with all those paper thin robes and summer bedding—but Christ, I guess kudos are in order nonetheless.

Sounds like we both lead very exciting lives when we’re not at school. It’s just me and my mom now. My dad … well, it’s just me and my mom. Though mostly me since she’s always working. One thing I can definitely say is that it’s a fairly distraction free environment while I work on summer assignments.
So do you have any big plans for what you wanna do after this year ends? It’s weird thinking this will be the last first week of term for me.
Oh yes, so thrilling. Distraction free is always good, I always have to go up this old tree-house in the backyard to get any peace; women just talk far too much. …No offense, I mean, maybe it’s just my relatives. 
Uhh, no not really to be honest. The end of my Hogwarts career has kind of snuck up on me, really. It’s like one second I was on the train for the first time, and then now I’m just standing here, pondering major life choices that are in my near future; what about you?

Well. there are plenty of other good excuses, too. Like not falling asleep in class, or you cold even do what my Nan does, say you have a headache until you get your coffee. Or you could just say you like it and leave it at that, ha. Yeah? You don’t like it at home, or is it just boring?
Hmm, all very good reasons - I may have to borrow one of those next time one of my housemates ask me why I have three cups of it with breakfast. It’s … well, it’s a complicated situation I guess. Besides I just like it here, everyone is so full of life and energy. But what about you? What’s your home like?

Ah huh, well, I guess I can understand complicated situations, we all have them at times. Ehh, my home’s just home. I live with my mom and grandmother, probably the best thing about it is that I’m extremely well fed there.
